Picture by Jeff, taken in the VERY high dollar parking lot in Philadelphia, Pa. Paying $20 to park seems just a bit WAY too much. |

I didn't look at any of the Philadelphia pictures that were taken until I got back home to NC and when I opened this one and saw the look on my face, I just started giggling. I look like I'm trying to pass myself off as this big bad-ass or something. Either that or I look incredibly bored but both of those are far from the truth! If you'll notice, I am standing not in the shadows on the ground but rather, where the sunshine could find my feet. With my black boots on, I could actually FEEL some WARMTH coming through the leather. I was cold. Or in hindsight of the Saturday in NYC, I would just call my state at that point as being just "invigoratingly chilled". Philadelphia was a tropical forest on Friday compared to the weather that swooped in on Saturday. I'm also in shock. I just got off a plane. In Philadelphia. Where it was cold. I was tired but excited. I was a bit dazed is all. The plane trips themselves were uneventful. Even though the new "check every bag and every shoe" laws went into effect at Midnight Friday. Just hours before my flight. In Raleigh-Durham, I checked my one bag curbside and was in and waiting in 15 minutes. I couldn't get my boarding pass until 7 AM but I was through that in just minutes. I could have slept in but I know another person who left the same morning I did but maybe a bit later and they had to jump through hoops. So, I must have just missed it. Leaving Philadelphia on Monday to come back was a bit longer. It took me a whole 25 minutes to actually stand in line, check my bag, get a boarding pass and go through 3 security checkpoints. Unbelievable. You can bet though, that if I'd been late to either departing flight, I would have hit snag upon snag upon snag. They were doing random detections immediately before we got onto the plane in Philadelphia. And of course, checking boarding pass against driver's license. My first experiences with using just my e-tickets and it was painless. Just worried to death about losing my Driver's License. I had put in for window seats on both flights and since I took some motion sickness preventers, I did as well as could be expected. I sat on the wings though both flights and that stupid scene from The Twilight Zone movie never fails to leave me for a minute when I'm actually in the air and can see the wings. Oh yes. Baggage claim freaks me out but I got my bag both times and I was happy. It took longer to get it from Raleigh Durham than it did for Philadelphia. So that's the flight information down and a picture. Only 50 million more memories and approximately 100 or so pictures to go.... |
