Wednesday

Well. This is it. The very last sodding day of 2003. Thank the deity of your choice.

Between all the growing pains with Mikey (broken growth plate, running away, sneaking out of the house, smoking, getting into trouble, getting kicked out of school for the rest of the year, etc.), going to school, putting Erica into her first "daycare" type of program, the trauma with @lix leaving and then coming back and now planning on leaving again, the various fights and arguments with my lovely family members as well as Stuart's brother....

2003 has not been my favorite year. I am glad it's over with.

Really, the most difficult part has been dealing with Mikey and all of his stuff. It just seems like it's one thing after another on top of this stacked onto that. If I don't get some kind of break, I'm going to need peeled off the ceiling.

I DID have some wonderful stuff happen I must say though.

-Amanda's visit to North Carolina. That was SO much fun. I loved her being here. I always have Amanda (and Jeff!) in the wonderful column.

- I started attending college. I am in awe that I can say that I've been taking college classes for a year now. When I started last year, I didn't know if I'd be able to hang but I did it!!! I DID it. I think this is my most priceless and prized accomplishment.

- I am a licensed Medical Responder. I am so proud of myself for this. It's not much to many people but to me, it's one of the hardest things I've done and an accomplishment that I'm very proud of.

- I am a volunteer at a local hospital emergency room.

- My trip to New Mexico and my friendship with Angela.

-A stronger friendship with Suzanne. We had a bit of a rocky misunderstanding about a year ago but we've since cleared it up and she makes my days at work much brighter.

- Stuart. He drives me insane, he makes me want to throttle him WITH his own golf clubs but he's always here. I can always depend on him to love me, for me. In spite of me.

-My health. While not wonderful, I feel better and stronger than I did last year and I've also been able to keep my initial 25 lb. weight loss off for a year. No major yo-yoing.

-My kids. When Mikey isn't getting into trouble, when @lix isn't a 1000 miles away and when Erica is her happy, chirpy self.

-This journal continues to keep me going and knowing you read and care, continues to inspire me. Thank you!

I hope 2004 treats me better. I don't feel it's my right but boy, would it be nice.
