Monday

A busy day. I woke up later than usual and don't enjoy that. I'm setting my alarm for tomorrow.

Went into work (yes, on my vacation) and updated the paper, charged my ipod, went to the rec center to work out, went to bank for the second time to cash a check, stopped in to pay my insurance, went to drop off a scuba tank to get hydro'd and picked up one that I had dropped off a few weeks previously, got a money order and mailed it for the ticket for A lix to come out for a visit, stopped at the grocery store and then went home.

I mentioned above that I had to go to the bank a second time.....

The first time I went in was because I was checking my bank statements online and noticed a charge to my account that I did not recognize and it shouldn't have been there because I hadn't used a check or my debit card in days. But there it was: AP9*24PROTECTPLUS 888-658-6859 CT XXXX CHKCD PURCH

A charge for $13.95. So, I checked back and saw that they had also charged me on the same day in June but for $14.95.

I was furious. I filed a complaint with the FTC, then went to my bank and started trying to figure out what in the world was going on.

The bank dialed the 888 # for me and eventually got a live person on the phone. The company claimed I had purchased their services online.

No, I most certainly had NOT. I was so ticked that I forgot to even ask WHAT kind of service I was paying for.

End of story: after me getting pretty ticked off and up to a supervisor level, they are supposed to refund both payments within 2 business days. I left just enough in that account to keep it open for them to credit me and transferred everything else to a new account.

What a fucking waste of time and energy. Fucking scammers.

...

I just sent off a big box of money to Nathan to reimburse him for the plane ticket he purchased to send A lix out here for a few weeks. She'll arrive on my birthday, the 16th. Nath an tried to be nice by getting her in on that day instead of the next day even though it would have been $60 cheaper. *sigh* Love my kid but definitely would have been fine with saving the $30.

N athan pays half and then for my half, St uart and I usually split that which is a freakin' lifesaver for me.

Whatever. Money is money.

Had a good workout today. That's a highlight and a good point of the day. Plus, had some good coffee this morning and was able to talk to my favorite person on the phone. Three good things. :)

...

I'm outta here for now.
