December 19, 2008 It's been a rather busy week. After updating the newspaper via VPN, I've gone out with Kevin to a residential carpentry job he is doing and helping him. This including carrying about a bazillion (okay, not THAT many but a lot) of sheets of OSB up a long flight of stairs. And involved electric saws and things that I can damage myself on. I am not mechanically inclined and injure myself while walking through my house....I don't need no stinkin' tools to help the process! It's always interesting though. I do learn some things. ... I'm a bit bummed. The main reason I end up not usually writing. I miss Alix. She turns 16 on Dec. 28 and I haven't seen her in a year and a half. I still hate that jackass for moving her all the way to Montana. And of course, the holidays. It really, really could be a lot worse, I know this but you know, I'd like to catch a break during this time of year just ONE year where I don't have to worry about paying bills or getting a few gifts for my kids. It's just depressing. I feel like I've not accomplished a damn thing on this earth in the past 36 years because of it. It'll get better. We, or rather, Kevin has a huge gig coming up that is going to net quite a bit of money and that's goodgreatwonderful. It just isn't helping right now, when you need it the most. Ah well. Everything happens for some reason. I just hate not knowing what the hell the reason IS. I think it's a control thing. And now my stomach is growling so I'm outta here to find some lunch. Leftovers from the primo spectacular dinner I made the other night: Stuff shells that are anything but boring, cavatappi like Carraba's, and a home made Creamy Parmeasean dressing for the Romaine lettuce. DELICIOUS! I am trying to duplicate my favorite recipes from Carraba's because that is my most FAVORITE place to eat in the entire world but they aren't exactly cheap. Anyhow. More later or tomorrow.
