Music In My Head and Heart

November 2001

November 10

So after a few months of no MTV or MTV2 (dish got cut off again due to lack of funds grrrr!), I read that Wes Borland has left Limp Bizkit.

Good. I didn't like him anyhow. Freak. I've always liked Fred the best.

...

I found this link through Willa's weblog

I downloaded and listened to some of the available clips and think it's .... very I don't know. I'm drawn to it. It reminds a lot of myself when I was kid.

My Uncle and Mom both are Beach Boy fans and their songs bring back my 9 year old self. My Uncle and I used to sing and harmonize together all the time to Beach Boy songs.

"I'm not braggin babe so don't put me down but I've got the fastest set of wheels in town...."

Michelle Branch: Second Chances and Goodbye To You

Two great songs. I love her voice. Pretty powerful for a young teen and not powerful in a Christina "Hysterics" Aguilera way.

Of course, songs from Buffy The Musical are in seriously heavy rotation right now. Tara's voice surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. I really love all the songs though.

I'm also on a serious Garbage kick: Androgyny, Stupid Girl, #1 Crush, I'm Only Happy When It Rains. Good stuff. Can't Cry These Tears is an awesome song from the new

The way she says the "boys. girls. boys. girls." refrain  on Androgyny sounds like someone from that old show "Electric Avenue". I think that was the name. You know, the one where they would say the word and it would come out of their open mouth in letters to teach us the words?

The new No Doubt song, Hey Baby, reminds me of Madonna's newer stuff. The beginning anyhow. The music. The voice is undoubtly No Doubt. I like the Jamaican touch to this song though. I like it. The song Sunday Morning from the same album is my favorite at this point though between the two.

November 30

I've been listening to the CD by newcomer Michelle Branch and she happens to be on the Maverick label. Madonna's label.

Branch has her own depths and ability and her folksy guitar is present in the majority of her songs but the one song "Drop In The Ocean" sounds very similar to Madonna's Ray of Light sounds. You can tell Branch is on her label by listening to that song. Or at least influenced by her.

Deep Blue Mix
1. Second Chances - Michelle Branch
2. Lonely Girl - Pink
3. Fill Me In - Craig David
4. Girlfriend - Alicia Keys
5. Goodbye To You - Michelle Branch
6. Have You Ever - Brandy
7. You Got It Bad - Usher
8. Eventually - Pink
9. All You Wanted - Michelle Branch
10. U Remind Me - Usher
11. Family Portrait - Pink
12. Fade - Staind
13. Sweet Misery - Michelle Branch
14. You Set Me Free - Michelle Branch
15. Drop In The Ocean - Michelle Branch
16. Missundaztood - Pink
17. Why Do I Feel So Sad - Alicia Keys

And if you haven't, check out Pink's new album. The song "Missundaztood" is my favorite so far. Her other song off that album "Get The Party Started" is Stuart's favorite right now. The song "Lonely Girl" is very...apt for me and I'm sure many people.
