April 22, 2002 Layne Staley, the former lead singer of Alice In Chains, was found dead in his Seattle apartment this past weekend.  I am so sad about this. I just remarked to Stuart this weekend oon the drive down to Wilmington, how I STILL couldn't believe that they had split up. We had just heard "Rooster" on the radio and I said that the one line out of the song was probably one of the best lines ever: "the bullets scream to me from somewhere." What a sad, wasteful loss. They are saying it's either by natural causes or Heroin overdose. I knew he was a drug user but it's still a shock to hear of his death, it's still sad dammit. The man's voice was incredible. I loved it.  ........ "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack I know it's wrong to lust after someone (shut up. "lust after" is a nice little euphemism for saying "would like to fuck the shit out of") but oh. my. God. I could just sit for hours watching this band sing. Sully Erna is fucking incredible. Just incredible. A growl-y voice just does me in immediately. April 25, 2002 Joined a Mix CD exchange list. I am excited about this! ... A recent playlist: I Wanna Be A Cowboy - Boy's Don't Cry Rock Me Amadeus - Falco You Spin Me Right Round - Dead or Alive Electric Avenue - Eddie Crant Pop Goes The World Too Sexy - Right Said Fred Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell Crash - The Primitives Who Can It Be Now - Men At Work Vacation - Go-Go's Sexy Thing - Peaches and Herb (Stuart sings the chorus of this to me all the time. heh. cracks me up every time: "I believe in miracles since you came along..you sexy thing...sexy thing!" you know, just the way he says it, not cuz he sucks in singing. It's a serious tongue in cheek type thing but he means it. anyhow. I know what I mean.) April 29, 2002 Youth of the Nation - POD: the drums and the drumline in this song are incredible. I love the music.  Another death in the music world: Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes of TLC (the crazy  one) died in a car wreck in Honduras over the weekend.  That's two. Who will be the third in this.....
