12-23-2002 Top Country Right Now Tim McGraw is one country artist that I like. I actually respect him and his music. One of his songs is doing what he can do very well: being controversial. Red Ragtop talks about two young people having sex, getting pregnant and dealing with abortion. It's a very, very good song. It also could be a bad thing. I'm sure the anti-abortionists will grab ahold of it and run with it. I'd hate to see that happen. Beautiful Mess by Diamond Rio Catchy. My all time favorite Diamond Rio song is "Meet In The Middle" A Lot Of Things Different: Kenny Chesney. Written by Bill Anderson and Dean Dillon. This is a song that has the ability to make me sob. And cry. Every River by Brooks and Dunn Brooks and Dunn have been around a long time now. They have some good stuff. This isn't my favorite though. I notice that the lyrics were also written by a newcomer in the country industry: Kim Richey. Addendum: Not newcomer to writing, to singing. She's got a CD released. Favorite Brooks and Dunn song: Neon Moon My Town by Montgomery Gentry is everything I love about living in a small southern town but also everything I hate. |
