Dive Time: a new diver's experiences

Written 6-12-07:

I know I have a few divers reading this and wanted to let you know that I post a lot of stuff over at the What's New @ Capital Scuba blog. If you haven't been to Fantasy Lake Scuba Park in the past few weeks, definitely click on the link in the right hand column and see what has been added.

I've read through and done all the academics for Rescue Diver. Dave and I were able to cover half the chapters before his surgery. I'll keep studying it until he's back on his feet enough to finish it (he just has surgery and will not be able to get in the water for a month).

I've logged a few dives since I last checked in but have been so busy with various web site stuff and life and changes of my own that I haven't had two seconds to even think about posting. But here I am!!!

I did one dive with Steve Campbell while he was doing his U/W Nav course. I still need to do the one dive to finish mine but he finished his!!!

I did 2 dives with x-tine and that was fun. I like her a lot. She's a great girl and has mad buoyancy skills.

I was able to do a dive this past Saturday with Kevin, he's the dude that goes out and helps in the quarry with stuff like putting the wings on the plane which is what he's working on at this point and that was pretty fun too.

I also have a night dive planned for Friday night. A REAL night dive. I've done a dusk dive but not total dark. I'm freaking!

So I almost have 40 dives. Then the academic test for the Rescue Diver, the in water skills and I've already started reading the Divemaster book. Which I want to discuss in another entry. So! Work to do, I'm out of here for now!

Have fun! Dive safe! Come visit me at the shop and talk to me this weekend! And you can send well wishes, if you'd like, to Dave at his email (scubadave@capitalscuba.com).
